“I purchased my 1st mountain bike in 1991 and have ridden all over the NW, Utah, Colorado & California since. Last year we purchased a 1995 Ford Econoline Camper Van (@stanthevanmtb) that I’ve been updating for further travels all centered around mountain biking. This isn’t our 1st round of vanlife though, we previously had a VW Eurovan that we didn’t feel could take us all to all the places we want to go.

My wife and I have been really involved with the trailbuilding/maintenance scene. We work with our local trail club Growlers Gulch Racing, NW Trail Alliance (local IMBA chapter) & Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance (SW Chapter). Besides doing the heavy lifting I am also a team leader & mentor to new members. We help with weekend trail building events that include camp outs & rides. These events draw a very good size crowd of mountain bikers. It’s similar to a race environment but we gather to build, maintain & ride the trails. I am also returning to Mountain Bike Oregon (Oakridge, OR) in July to be a ride guide.”
