Fork offset, trail, shorter? longer?! Undoubtably offset has an impact on your ride. Fox, Rockshox, MRP, and others are all offering up forks in different offset options. While I will not belabor ride quality difference of fork offset, trail, etc. here, I will touch on the question of, Can it be done / is it worth it on your particular fork:
Fox 36:
- 2017 or prior looking to go to 37mm rake
- requires a new airspring assembly
- Increasing travel may require damper change
- 2017 look to go 44mm rake (offset)
- 180mm max for 27.5 160 max for 29
- Increasing travel may require damper change
- 2018+ 37mm rake (offset)
- 180 max 27.5 170 max 29
- Increasing travel may require damper change
Part requirements and pricing:
- Kashima upper assembly (CSU). ~$320-350
- Black Ano upper assembly (CSU). ~$210-250
- 2018/19 Air spring assembly. ~$42
- Typically around $150 in standard service parts & labor
- discounts if upgrading damper cartridge
Rockshox Pike:
Altering Pike and Lyrik is a bit more involved and may require updating your damper to fit the new CSU.
Pike A1 – A2 2014-2017 (solo air, not debonair, non-boost)
- Recommend a trade-in for new style pike w/ debonair
Pike B1 BOOST 15×110 (2018+ Debonair )
- 2018+ look to go 44mm rake (offset)

MRP Ribbon offers various offsets for both coil and airsrpung versions
- 27.5″: 39 or 44mm
- 27.5+ / 29″: 41, 46, or 51mm
DVO
Currently no reduce offset options for their Diamond or Saphire forks.
Cane Creek
Currently no reduct offset options for their Helm Fork.
