Rode bikes a ton when I was a kid while growing up as a kid, mainly bmx slowly fell away with the sport as I grew up. Joined the AirForce when I was 18, and spent the next 20 years mainly in Alaska and traveling the world. Recently retired from the service in 2017. Around 2007 on a 1 year tour in South Korea I got back into mountain biking, and it took off from there, and have never looked back.
At age 39 my passion for riding is stronger than ever. I own two bikes, dedicated 17 Scott Gambler DH, and a Yeti SB66C which is being replaced with a new 2018 YT Jeffsy 29 here soon. I have a 12 year old daughter who rides with me in a local MTB trail group which I also volunteer on weekdays . Im also obtaining my PMBI Level 1 coaching credentials this summer as well.
I like travel when family time allows, usually 2-3 trips a year to the Whistler area for riding since its so close. Our mountain biking season here in Alaska can be short, but interesting pending on the snow years, and sometimes local trails arent ready till Mid May, and can be done by mid October. I frequent the local bikepark here which is gnarly and hard on equipment, and in the winter is the steepest ski resort in North America.
Im also a huge snowmobiler in the winter and spend a ton of time in the mountains, and just as equally a motorhead in the summer. I love to tinker, and build, tune etc, that is where my love for suspension and tweaking comes from.
